  • Responsibilities

     

    The BU Hub is an innovative general education program for all Boston University undergraduate students. The Administrative Coordinator, BU Hub reports to the Managing Director of the BU Hub and is responsible for providing administrative support for both the Managing Director and the Assistant Provost for General Education, as well as for others in the Hub office, a department of the Office of the Provost. The Hub staff work collaboratively with academic, administrative, and operations units and with faculty, staff, and students across the University to manage, communicate about, and assess the BU Hub.

     

    The Administrative Coordinator schedules and coordinates details of in-person, virtual, and hybrid meetings and events. They are responsible for organizing University-level faculty and staff committees and support the chairs and members of those committees, which include the General Education Committee of the University Council (GEC) and the BU Hub Council. The Administrative Coordinator actively manages multiple calendars, places orders with internal and external vendors, completes expense reports, drafts correspondence, administers surveys, handles research projects, and prepares reports. The Administrative Coordinator is an integral part of the Hub team and their efforts support program and curricular development, assessment, communications, and operations of the Hub.

    Education: Bachelors or equivalent experience preferred Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills, including the ability to write well and to deal effectively and diplomatically with various constituencies. Must be able to work independently as well as collaborate effectively as part of a team, to anticipate needs, to set priorities in consultation with others, and to properly handle sensitive/ confidential information.

     

    Must be comfortable representing a high-level, central administrative department of the University. Ability to conduct research (for example, about other universities and programs), to synthesize and analyze data and other information, and to produce reports, charts, graphs, etc., is desirable. Should be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Sharepoint, Qualtrics, SAP, Concur, Ariba, and other BU systems a plus.
