  • Responsibilities

    The Department of Chemistry and the BU Chemical Instrumentation Center seek a Mass Spectrometry Instrumentation Specialist with experience in Proteomics. This highly-collaborative position reports to the Center Director and works closely with other instrumentation specialists, department faculty, and students to support the research and instructional missions of the Chemistry Department and researchers across the University's Charles River and Medical campuses. 

    Required Skills

    • The Specialist will hold an advanced degree in chemistry, biochemistry or related fields, and possess expertise in Mass Spectrometry, Chromatography and associated optical characterization techniques.
    • Master's Degree required, Ph.D. preferred.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with researchers to apply/develop spectroscopic techniques appropriate to experimental needs.
    • Experience in an instrument lab that provides user training, instrument maintenance, and other support services to a user community is highly desirable.
    • Experience with manuscript development and proposal preparation is also highly desirable.
