  • Responsibilities

    The Summer Term Program Manager manages all aspects of the one- and two-week precollege programs offered by Summer Term. The Program Manager is solely responsible for the admissions processes of Summer Challenge and Summer Preview, programs which receive over 1000 applications each season. They make all admissions decisions for the one- and two-week precollege programs and oversee communication processes with applicants and their parents/guardians. They serve as the liaison for our non-profit partnerships, working with partner organizations to support low-income students who participate in the programs. In addition, the Program Manager is responsible for creating, organizing, and implementing program activities for Summer Challenge and Summer Preview; for providing on-call support during emergencies; for supervising student and temporary workers; for running program check-ins; and for mediating student conflicts. The Program Manager also supports the Associate Director and the Director with other tasks related to the day-to-day operations of the High School Programs and Summer Term offices. 

    Required Skills

    • BA/BS with 5-8 years of experience or Master's with 3-5 years of experience.
    • Master's Degree preferred
    • Enthusiasm and the ability to effectively communicate on behalf of Boston University to the community at large
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
    • Ability to interview, select, train and supervise student workers strong computer skills

     

    This position involves frequent evening and weekend hours during the eight weeks of the summer program.
