EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, NEIDL, National Emerging Infectious Disease Lab
Reporting to the National Emerging Infectious Diseases laboratories (NEIDL) Director, the Executive Director (ED) will serve in a critical leadership role of a premier scientific organization to formulate, manage, and execute strategies and programs to advance the mission of the NEIDL and the University, ensuring cost effective operations and strategic and fiscal planning. The ED provides expertise in strategic planning and implementing new and existing NEIDL scientific programs, setting priorities, forecasting and meeting NEIDLs programmatic needs. The incumbent will play a key role in efficiently harnessing the capabilities of the NEIDL by carrying out a broad range of operational and management responsibilities, including financial and administrative operations, management and operational aspects of basic, preclinical, and translational research, technology transfer and licensing, program planning and evaluation, quality systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, policy analysis, information systems technology support, internal and external communications, scientific and administrative reports, human resource matters (including acquisition, retention, and thoughtful management of staff resources), facility management, capacity building, fiscal planning, and budgetary/financial and administrative management, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the NEIDLs laboratory facilities and shared resources. The incumbent directly supervises staff in the Office of the Director and works collaboratively with all staff to most effectively advance the NEIDL mission for Pandemic Preparedness.
