  • Responsibilities

    The Administrative Assistant performs a wide variety of front desk, administrative and office support tasks and activities supporting the Chair of Epidemiology as well as the faculty and staff in the department, ensuring smooth and efficient operations support of the department. Serves as primary operational and administrative contact for all internal and external constituencies. Coordinates the provision of office needs and staff support services to the office and participates in the coordination and completion of special projects and/or events.

    Required Skills

    • High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred. 
    • Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant office experience required.
    • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Computer skills including working knowledge of MS Office (Word and Excel primarily).
    • Ability to handle highly confidential information with appropriate discretion and sensitivity.
    • Must be committed to providing the highest level of customer service and responsiveness.
    • Demonstrated experience working in a high volume, deadline-oriented customer focused environment.
    • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Position is hourly, non-exempt.
    • Standard operating hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, M-F. Some evenings/weekends may be required when staffing events, etc.
    • This is an in-person/on-premises role with occasional opportunity for remote work, upon consideration of impact on business operations.
    • Familiarity with Google Docs, PowerPoint and Qualtrics, preferable.
    • Any citation manager software such as Zotero or Endnote a plus.
