    The Department of Romance Studies ****at Boston University invites applications to fill a one-year Visiting Assistant Professorship in Latin American and Brazilian literature and culture (July 1, 2023-June 30, 2024). We seek a scholar with the ability to offer courses in Spanish and in Brazilian Portuguese. Candidates should also be prepared to actively contribute to university initiatives focused on enhancing student engagement and fostering diversity and inclusion .

    The successful candidate will teach core courses in our undergraduate and graduate programs, and assist directly with advising.

    Required Skills

    Requirements include a PhD in hand by September 1, 2023, in Spanish or Brazilian literature; demonstrated excellence in research and teaching; ability to offer undergraduate courses and graduate seminars in Spanish or Portuguese; native or native-like proficiency in those languages and in English.
