    Lead Front Desk/MOD, Cambridge, MA

    Harvard Recreation, managed by HealthFitness, is looking for a Lead Front Desk/MOD to work on a collaborative team and assist with front desk and fitness center oversight at our on-campus client sites. In this position, you'll work with and help supervise the front desk team and provide facility oversight at the campus recreation facilities alongside our Management Team. During closing shifts, you will serve as the acting manager and will oversee facility operations and shift accountability.

    What you'll be doing:

    • Greeting, checking in, and assisting customers. Provides program information services and membership information. Leads and assists front desk team.
    • Hourly facility walk-thru rounds to assess safety and cleanliness. Periodic inventory checks & cleaning of equipment and merchandise.
    • Responding to client and participant requests, comments, or concerns to brings issues to a timely and appropriate resolution. As an emergency situation lead, will manage incidents and complete accident reports as needed.
    • Maintains and updates participant and facility policies. Educates participants on policies and procedures.
    • Opening and closing duties depending on shift hours.
    • Helps with all member service desk administration and processes including phones and membership enrollments. Participates in internal programs, special events, and membership drives. Collects membership fees and performs related recordkeeping.
    • Other duties as needed/assigned.

    What you'll need to have:

    • High school diploma or GED and 2+ years of in-person customer service experience.
    • Adult CPR/AED/First Aid certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute required within 90 days of hire. Can train onsite & provide certification courses if needed.
    • Personable presence, the ability to lead by example, and accountability skills.
    • Basic computer and point of sale systems knowledge.

  • Qualifications
    • 5-10 years of experience in related field is preferred. 
    • Two to three years of experience in finance, budgeting, and analysis or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in a corporate function. 
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven experience cultivating collaborative working relationships with teams across the global organization. 
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing. 
    • Ability to conduct complex scenario planning/sensitivity analysis, draw conclusions, and make recommendations.
    • Accomplished in developing well-organized, data-driven presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint or similar application.
    • Flexible and able to successfully navigate ambiguity and succeed in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities. 
    • Leverage critical thinking to work through tasks and assess for reasonableness 
    • Working knowledge of investment analysis theory and practice. 
    • Takes pride in quality of work making sure deliverables are free of errors. 
    • Prior working experience with financial management systems such as Hyperion, OneStream, or a similar software.  Understanding of eliminations required for consolidations of group-wide results. 
    • Ability to create, modify, and understand complex Excel spreadsheets used to collect, analyze, and model financial data
    • BA/BS or equivalent is preferred. 
    • CPA, MBA is preferred
    • Work is generally performed within a business professional office environment, with standard office equipment available. 
    • Work conditions are typical of an office environment. This role will be performed within a hybrid environment (in-office/work-from-home), on schedule agreed with management. 
    • This role does not require any domestic travel 
    • Position may require the physical agility of lifting up to 15 pounds 
    • Position may require frequent and/or infrequent of bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, controls and standing/walking on concrete flooring. 
    • Position may require the physical ability to stand/walk for Less than 4 hours
