  • Responsibilities

    OVERALL OBJECTIVE

    The main function of the QA Specialist is ensuring software quality through manual testing, the development and maintenance of test cases as well as the capture and accurate reporting of issues and defects.  The QA Specialist performs manual testing of software applications, websites, landing pages, animated display ads, and emails.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Collaborate with the Agile Software Development team, Product Owners and Project Managers to develop effective strategies and test approaches to ensure quality applications and products.
    • Design and maintain test plans, test scenarios, test cases/scripts.
    • Generate, validate and maintain test data.
    • Perform/execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results.
    • Create and maintain reports on testing phases/cycles, including results of testing and product stability.
    • Document software defects using Jira defect tracker and report defects to development and product teams.
    • Monitor and validate the outcomes of defect resolution.
    • Conduct post-release / post-implementation and regression testing.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure software quality.
    • Participate in daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning and backlog grooming sessions.
    • Perform other duties as requested.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent related work and education experience.
    • Experience in a Software Quality Assurance role or related training and work experience.
    • Experience with defect reporting and tracking tools such as Jira.
    • Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Test Life Cycle (STLC) and Agile methodologies (Scum and Kanban).
    • Quality Assurance certification such as ASTQB / ISTQB is a big plus.
    • Automated testing and programming skills a plus.
    • Strong attention to detail, problem solving, communication, organization and time-management skills
    • Ability to analyze, evaluate and extract testable requirements.
    • Ability to write and execute test cases.
    • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects and priorities.
    • Ability to act as a team player as well as work independently.
  • Qualifications

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

     

    • 0 – 2 years of similar work experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to walk. The team member must frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and extreme cold or hot temperature.
    • Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.
