POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW, Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics
The Laboratory of Addictive Disorders, located in the Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics on the Boston University Medical Campus, is looking for post-doctoral fellows.
Research in the laboratory is aimed at understanding the neurobiological substrates of alcohol addiction, food addiction, and stress-related disorders, with a particular focus on the role of neuropeptides.
Studies are carried out on environmental and genetic rodent models, using a multidisciplinary behavioral, pharmacological, biochemical, and molecular approach. Some of the techniques currently used in the laboratory are: self-administration, models of dependence, intracranial self-stimulation, anxiety and depression tests, real-time PCR, immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, western blotting, DREADDs and viral vector technologies.
Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Pharmacology, or related disciplines is required. Those with a strong background in behavioral neuroscience and consider themselves independent, intensely motivated to succeed, and hard-working are encouraged to apply.
Salary will follow the NIH guidelines, based on years of experience.
