  • Responsibilities

    The Department Administrator manages all administrative functions of the Political Science Department, including:

    • Supervision of full time staff and student employees
    • Staff and student payroll
    • Monitoring and spending the department overhead budget
    • Monitoring and spending faculty research grants
    • Monitoring and spending grants
    • Course scheduling/Registrar planning functions
    • Final exam scheduling; faculty actions
    • Summer term planning; commencement planning
    • PDQ Home Admin Menu Assign PDQs Track PDQs PDQ Stats Logout special event planning
    • File and record maintenance
    • Report writing and editing
    • Allocation of office and proprietary classroom space
    • Monitoring and requesting improvements to building, furnishings, and capital equipment (phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, computer lab, faculty and staff computers, offices, hallways, common areas)
    • Assist chair with special projects, including merit reviews, annual reports, and annual course/budget planning.

    Required Skills

    • Bachelor's Degree required and 3+ years of related work experience
