    Boston University College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences: Sargent College is one of the countrys leading schools of health and rehabilitation sciences. Home to more than 1,600 undergraduate and 400 graduate students, Sargent College combines outstanding faculty and cutting-edge research to provide superb education and clinical experiences. The college has more than 25 on-campus research facilities, clinical centers, and labs. It offers top-ranked degree programs in occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech, language and hearing sciences, health science, human physiology, behavior and health, and nutrition. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, the Assistant Director of Graduate Financial Aid will establish and implement policies and procedures regarding all financial aid to graduate students in the college. This will include- determining eligibility, awarding scholarships and other funds in consultation with administration, and processing financial aid documents. They will advise and counsel students regarding various financial aid programs and budgets and will also educate students of the options, procedures, and repayment of federal financial aid. The Assistant Director will be part of the graduate enrollment and student services leadership teams and will work closely with the Assistant Dean of Student Services, and Director of Graduate Enrollment, deans, and program directors to contribute to all aspects financial aid support to graduate students during admission and throughout their time as a graduate student at Sargent College. The Assistant Director of Graduate Financial Aid will sustain and support a culture that celebrates the diversity of individuals and ideas, which values accountability, collaboration, and innovation.     RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • 25%Receive and assess all financial aid applications for new and continuing graduate students.
    • Analyze, evaluate, and award need based/alumni scholarships
    • Review all FAFSA documents and correct as necessary to determine federal loan and federal work study eligibility
    • Send financial aid award letters
    • Maintain all graduate financial assistance budgets 25%Counsel and advise individual and groups of students about financial aid opportunities, eligibility requirements, restrictions, and repayment options
    • This work includes on campus, distance-education, and prospective students
    • Manage, respond, and provide guidance with ongoing support to emails/phone calls from both continuing students/parents and applicants regarding financial aid
    • 20%Work with Graduate Enrollment team to process financial aid at time of admissions.
    • Collect, review, determine eligibility and record all graduate financial aid in the BU system.
    • Review financial aid appeals
    • Maintain updated financial aid information and materials on web site and attend and provide information to prospective students at open house events
    • 20%Collaborate with faculty, PhD students, Director of Graduate Enrollment, and Senior Director of Finance and Administration to review and apply tuition scholarships, payroll, and non-service stipends Posts merit scholarships, review, and award federal loans, maintain reports address needs of students enrolled in Sargent distance-education programs
    • 10%Support College wide activities for recruitment and admissions as well as coordinate with the Assistant Dean of student services on Academic Services Center graduate program functions
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Required: Bachelors degree ,Three to five years of experience in higher education student financial aid management.

    • Sensitivity for multicultural, disability, and socio-economic diversity with an awareness of best practices Experience supporting data-informed decisions
    • Experience serving diverse student populations and a demonstrated commitment to racial justice, equity, and inclusion
    • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), including the ability to work sensitively to support students to make informed decisions
    • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues across the university
    • Openness to learning new reporting platforms and procedures Preferred
    • Interest in health-care professions and the role of AAU/R1 universities in the US higher-education system
