  • Responsibilities

    The Edwards group (Dr. Aurelie Edwards, Principal Investigator) at Boston University seeks to recruit a postdoctoral associate to develop multi-scale computational models of solute transport in the kidney. The position is funded by a R01 grant from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases. The primary responsibilities are: develop new numerical methods to efficiently model time-dependent transport processes in the kidney; develop a computational framework that is applicable to different animal models; run simulations, provide mathematical analysis and critical evaluation; and assist with preparation of the publications resulting from this research. The duration of the appointment is 2 years.

    Required Skills

    • Ph.D. in engineering, computer science, computational biology, or a related technical field
    • Expertise in mathematical modeling
    • Excellent independent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to conduct high-quality, rigorous, independent research
