  • Responsibilities

    We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to focus on the molecular biology of melanoma.  The main goal of the Lang Laboratory at Boston University is to determine the molecular mechanism of melanoma growth, survival, and metastasis. This candidate will have opportunities for in vitro and in vivo studies in melanoma cancer research.  These projects include molecular biology, histology and histopathology, protein biology, and mouse models.  Representative publications from the lab include Kubic, J.D. et al., Oncogene 2015 34:(38)4964, JBC 2015 290:(36)21901, and Mol Cancer Res, 2012 10:(8)1065.

     

    Candidates must have a Ph.D. in molecular biology, cancer biology, or related field.  Candidates also must have a track-record of productivity, an ability to interact with a team, be able to think critically, and be able to work independently.  Candidates should be able to perform basic techniques in cell culture, molecular biology and DNA cloning, and/or mouse husbandry.  There will be opportunities for scientific writing, experimental design, and presentations; these activities are also required as part of this position.  Preference will be given to candidates with less than 2 years of postdoctoral experience.
