  • Responsibilities

    The Assistant Director for Mental Health Promotion is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating group- and population-level efforts to improve the mental wellbeing of undergraduate and graduate students. The position supports campus-wide prevention strategies that are evidence-based, clinically-informed, collaborative, and address the varying needs of our diverse student body.

     

    Opportunities include:

    • Developing, delivering, and evaluating programs, presentations, and training to promote a thriving student population
    • Collaborating with stakeholders to offer culturally-relevant mental health promotion offerings
    • Expanding mindfulness offerings, including facilitation of Koru groups
    • Facilitating gate-keeper training programs
    • Consulting on campus-based initiatives to promote mental health
    • Supporting the department’s peer education program

    Required Skills

    • Masters Degree in Public Health, Health Communication, Social Work, or related field
    • 3-5 years experience
    • Excellent understanding of mental health challenges and opportunities in higher education
    • Exceptional project management skills
    • Exceptional communications skills
    • Exceptional teamwork skills
    • Proven self-starter and creative problem-solver
