    Boston University College of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences: Sargent College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the Programs in Nutrition, Department of Health Sciences. The position will start in Fall 2022. We are seeking a colleague for this strategic hire that will allow us to build upon the College’s tradition of excellence in the health sciences and our commitment to diversity and inclusion.

     

    Tenure-track faculty at Boston University are expected to teach, carry out independent research, and participate in service and student mentorship. The successful candidate will have a research program that has potential for ongoing support via external funding. Specialization within the field of nutrition is open and course assignments will be flexible, depending on the candidate’s expertise. Areas of particular interest for this hire could include one or more of the following: nutritional epidemiology; nutrition data science, involving the use of quantitative methods to analyze large datasets; nutrigenomics; clinical nutrition; social/behavioral nutrition; public health/global nutrition, including dietary interventions that address health disparities and/or serve vulnerable populations. The successful candidate will have a well-defined vision of their research goals, demonstrated success collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, and established competence as a teacher.

    Required Skills

    • Earned research doctoral degree (PhD, ScD or equivalent in nutrition or a closely related field, completed at the time of application)
    • Post-doctoral experience (preferred)
    • Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (desired)
    • Clear potential for an externally funded research program
    • Peer-reviewed journal publications
    • Demonstrated capacity teaching at the college/university level, with undergraduate and graduate students
