    The primary role of the Client Coordinator is to serve as a point of contact for clients in conjunction with Client Managers and provide any necessary administrative assistance required by the Client Managers to successfully retain business. Client Coordinators work with various departments within Health Benefits to promptly respond to client questions, facilitate resolutions to concerns, run client specific reports and provide support to Client Managers. This position may also involve client facing responsibilities such as employee meeting presentations, benefit fairs and attending quarterly and renewal meetings with client managers. Limited travel could be required with possible overnight stays. Travel could be with or without Client Manager.

     

    PLEASE NOTE THIS POSITION CAN BE PERFORMED IN CALIFORNIA ONLY.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

     

    • Provides back-up and support to Client Manager(s) in matters of customer service and support for clients. This includes handling day-to-day questions and issues from clients and brokers.
    • Provides administrative support to Client Manager(s) to include client specific report generation and mailing to clients, and answering calls on behalf of the Client Manager(s).
    • Participates in in-office client meetings to establish both a relationship with a client and an understanding of their unique needs and issues; may also include participation in internal staff meetings relating to client concerns/issues.
    • Through a strong understanding of the claims paying system, evaluates and resolves claim issues and brings these to the attention of the Client Manager(s) and/or may be involved in resolution process.
    • Participates and may present information in client implementations, benefit fairs, benefit elections, and open enrollment meetings.
    • Coordinates communication with client/broker/Health Benefits departments/vendors regarding new groups, terminations, plan changes, issues, new products, etc.
    • Other duties as needed/assigned

     

     

     QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, as are exceptional organizational skills.
    • Thorough understanding of self-funding and employee benefit plans.
    • Minimum 3 years previous experience in a similar TPA or insurance environment
    • Knowledge and understanding of benefit-related federal laws (i.e., ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, PPACA, etc.)
    • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
    • Analytical skills, problem solving skills, reading ability, creative decision making skills, the ability to comprehend and follow instructions, mathematical ability and time management skills are required.
    • Ability to travel as required for this position.
    • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
    • State insurance license-preferred. 
    • College degree-preferred.

    Qualifications: • Excellent scientific writing skills • A history of scientific publications is desirable • Self-motivated and committed to public health research • Strong interpersonal skills • High level of professionalism and attention to detail • Experience in project management • Master’s degree in health policy or economics preferred; applicants with PhD will be considered • Familiarity with econometric methods of policy analysis, such as difference-in-differences methods, is a plus • Familiarity with STATA or SAS • Ability to manage time well; punctual
