Youth Camp Counselor - Beaumont, TX seasonal, part-time, up to 20 hours/week Training starts in March, Camps run June-August

HealthFitness is looking for Youth Camp Counselors to join the team at our community client site located in Beaumont, TX. In this position, you will be responsible for the implementation of all camp programs providing a fun, safe, and positive learning experience for all campers. You will also be responsible for the general safety and development, growth, and skill achievement of the participants in his/her group. As a Camp Counselor, you will provide high quality educational and recreational experiences for participants that focus on the CHRISTUS HWC core values of Health, Honesty/Integrity, Family, Productivity, and Respect

What you'll be doing

• Follow all state licensing guidelines when in care of children.
• Identify and respond to camper behavior issues. Always be respectful when correcting behaviors and also when speaking with parents.
• Know and understand all emergency procedures associated with the camp program and HWC policies.
• Maintaining all proper documentation, certification, and attend all required annual service training.
• Adhere to dress code, cell phone, and proper etiquette policies when on duty.
• Have great communication with team members and direct supervisor.
• Lead, instruct, and participate with children in all camp activities while providing the safest environment possible in adhearance to state and local guidelines.
• Assist with organizing arts and crafts each week and also coming up with games and activities that can follow each weeks theme.
• Make sure all kids are in compliance with covid protocols, and keep areas clean and disinfected.

What you'll need to have

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Child CPR/AED/First Aid certification from American Red Cross, American Heart Association or American Safety & Health Institute prior to start date.
• Customer service oriented.
• Flexibility in schedule.
• Prior experience working with children a plus.
