At least one of the positions in this cohort will be dedicated primarily to teaching courses that specifically serve students for whom English is a second or other language. Applicants who wish to be considered for the multilingual writing position should make their experience and credentials in ESL/ELL/TESOL clear. Successful applicants for this position will be familiar with current scholarship in second language writing, intercultural rhetoric, global Englishes, or other related fields.
For all of the positions, we seek applications from candidates who have significant experience teaching writing and serving students or communities of underrepresented and minoritized groups, who can demonstrate success in equity-oriented pedagogy, and who show potential to advance the program’s diversity efforts. The program is especially interested in candidates whose teaching of writing draws upon anti-racist and global frameworks from diverse disciplines and critical approaches, including race and ethnicity and their intersections with environmental justice, gender, and sexuality. All applicants should be committed to teaching writing in ways that equitably serve BU’s many multilingual students. We strongly encourage candidates from historically marginalized groups to apply.
We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
