    Health Fitness Professional/Fitness Instructor in Winston-Salem, NC!

    Schedule: M-F will work a combination of the following shifts: 9:30am-6:00pm & 6am-2:30pm

    Location: You will work in-person, splitting your time between two of our corporate fitness sites in Winston-Salem, located 5 miles apart, 4 days out of the week, providing services both face to face and virtually.

    What you will be doing:

    • Monitors facility; interacts with participants and monitors equipment and participant safety. Virtual Fitness as applicable.
    • Assists in the development and delivery of a variety of HealthFitness and program-specific health improvement programs and promotions.
    • Promotes program offerings and conducts outreach activities to increase participation and re-engage inactive members.
    • Provides individual and group exercise instruction; educates participants on proper techniques to maximize exercise safety and effectiveness.
    • Conducts fitness testing and assessments and advises participants of results; designs individualized programs to meet the member's interests, abilities and goals.
    • Participates in membership drives to acquire new members; enrolls new participants and conducts facility, program and equipment orientations.
    • Creates and maintains bulletin boards, newsletters and other marketing and communication materials.
    • Performs facility maintenance responsibilities; ensures facility, equipment and locker rooms are clean and stocked at all times. Ensures personal and facility appearance meet standards.
    • Maintains participant files and database.

    What you bring with you:

    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field (Kinesiology, Exercise Science, etc.) OR the equivalent combination of education, industry experience and current certification(s) from a HealthFitness approved provider.
    • Experience instructing group exercise classes (such as boot camp, HIIT, etc.) required.
    • Adult First Aid and CPR/AED certification through American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute required prior to start date.
    • Personal Training certification from an industry recognized and HealthFitness approved provider; if not current, will be required within 3 months of hire.
    • Group Exercise Instructor certification from ACE, AFAA/NASM, ACSM, NCCPT or NETA; if not current, will be required within 3 months of hire.
    • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others.
    • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including at minimum Word, Excel and Outlook.
    • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative and creativity.
    • Competency in the delivery of HealthFitness and site-specific programs and services both in-person and virtually.
