  • Responsibilities

    The primary purpose of this position is to develop and maintain high quality web properties associated with Boston University Metropolitan College, Extended Education, and Summer Term. This position is responsible for the technical implementation of website design troubleshooting, and maintenance for all web properties. Responsible for the development of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, the maintenance of an ASP application, and management of BU WordPress sites. This position is responsible for maintaining creative consistency within each site and optimizing the user experience. Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring all website functionality is aligned with current best practices, adhering to recommended accessibility standards, and optimized for users across platforms, devices, and browsers. The position ensures site quality through regular review and testing of all websites and developing processes for maintenance.

    Required Skills

    B.A/B.F.A/B.S or equivalent with 5-7 years experience in a technical role. Experience with web-based applications such as content management systems (Wordpress preferred) and other technology-driven features. Marketing/Communications experience preferred. Extra experience apparent in portfolio. Proficiency with web applications, programming languages, and web services such as APIs, HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript code and markup. Direct experience with Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Microsoft Office, and Windows and Mac platforms. Familiarity with sound graphic design principles. A strong understanding of modern web practices to create an efficient user-experience. Experience with CRM systems and how to implement and tag hidden fields for website forms; experience with UTMs and analytics tracking a plus. Demonstrated knowledge of CRM solution planning, analysis, and integration with other software applications. A good understanding of cross- browser issues and their workarounds. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Ability to prioritize and work on several different projects simultaneously. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
