    Child Care Attendant- Advocate Centre Club - Libertyville

    Hiring for Part-time & As-Needed/On-call/Substitute (number of hours per week depends on demand)

    If you enjoy caring for children, HealthFitness has a new opportunity for an on-call Child Care Attendant to join our team within our client's corporate fitness center located in Libertyville, IL! In this position, you will be responsible for providing safe and fun play with children who are in the facility.

    Responsibilities:

    • Greeting each parent, interacting with parents, and following up the needs of the child.
    • Planning of activities for the children and assisting with stimulating and age-appropriate games and tasks.
    • Observe and play with children.
    • Ensuring that the children in their care are safe and engaged in developmental activities.
    • Participate in child’s activities: reading, painting, crafts, play.
    • Sanitize toys and play equipment.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    • Must be 18 years or older.
    • Child/Infant CPR/AED certifications from the American Red Cross, the American Heart Association, or the American Safety & Health Institute will be required within first 30 days of hire.
    • Knowledge and experience with young children is strongly preferred.
    • Experience in customer service preferred.
    • Flu vaccination required during Fall 2023.

  • Qualifications

    Minimum education & experience level required:

    • 5-8 years of combined experience in career and internship advising and relationship management
    • Solid understanding of current hiring processes for entry to mid-career opportunities
    • Experience recruiting for public health and/or healthcare organizations strongly preferred
    • Experience working with diverse populations
    • Masters Degree strongly preferred

     

    Skill requirements (include complexity of position):

    • Demonstrated success in building relationships with hiring managers and recruiters
    • Solid career advising background including all phases of job search process
    • Ability to develop a strategic relationship plan to engage employers and practicum host sites and meet target goals

     

    Interpersonal skills (include personal interaction):

    • Collaborative style; easily able to build rapport with diverse stakeholder groups
    • Intuitive; recognizes and seizes opportunities for candidate referrals and partnerships
    • Excellent communicator, both verbal and written
    • Cross-culturally competent; enjoys working with diverse populations
    • Patient and encouraging nature as it relates to career advising
    • Sense of humor
    • Note: Must be able to work some evenings and occasional weekends.
