The Boston University Law Libraries Research Services department is dedicated to serving our students and ensuring they have exceptional research skills upon leaving the law school. We are looking for someone with a strong interest in transactional law and legal technology supporting transactional lawyers, and the directions in which that technology is moving. The Law School has several transactional clinics and a contract drafting clinic that need the support of a librarian who understands transactional law and legal technology. All Research Services librarians teach research in the Lawyering program partnered with a Lawyering faculty member. The library also teaches research in the LLM writing program, has a popular Certification program, and encourages librarians to teach for-credit research courses. There is room to develop a course in legal technology in the library. Additionally, we also work with liaison faculty and a liaison journal providing research support to faculty and source coordination and note development support to the journal. We have a highly collaborative team with six legal information librarians and the Associate Director. We plan our curricula together, meet regularly to strategize, and help each other with reference questions. Each of us serves as a liaison to faculty, student journals, and law school departments. We have moved to a virtual reference desk and are looking for innovative ideas for reaching out to students. Team members are eligible for remote work, and number days varies depending on the time of the year. Join a great team of motivated, supportive, and interesting librarians.
