DIGITAL LEARNING DESIGNER, Digital Learning & Innovation
The Instructional Production Services (IPS) group within the Digital Learning & Innovation office at Boston University offers instructional strategy and design in online/hybrid modalities, digital media creation and course production in service of the University’s digital initiatives. The IPS team works with college, department, or faculty-initiated projects, as well as grant-funded initiatives and special projects.The role of the Digital Learning Designer within this group is to manage the process of course design and content to support faculty and content matter experts in end-to-end course creation work. From articulating learning objectives to importing and setting up content in the course platform for online delivery, this position is expected to evolve with the needs and overall demand for services that the IPS team offers to the BU community.
This position reports to the Manager of the IPS team. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively to support the development and production of digital learning projects across multiple learning platforms, such as Blackboard and edX. The Digital Learning Designer will design and project manage all aspects of course building. This includes collaborating with IPS Multimedia Producers to inform the pre-production and post-production processes in creating digital media assets. Focusing on the end product and overall learning experience for each project, the Digital Learning Designer will work to ensure courses meet the agreed upon specifications, and standards of quality for online learning.
