  • Responsibilities

    The Associate Director of Industry Relations (AD) is a member of the management Team of the Master of Science in Mathematical Finance & Financial Technology (MSMFT), together with the Executive Director, the Assistant Director, the soft and quantitative skills career coaches. The AD supports the MSMFT Executive Director in the development and management of employer relationships, to expand internship and job opportunities for the MSMFT students. Under the lead of the Executive Director, the AD maintains and enhances relations with alums and historical employers, conducts research for new potential employers to whom to market the program, e.g., joint presentations with the Executive Director, invitations to talk to the program. In this process, the AD helps the Executive Director elicit internship and job positions for students to apply to. The AD manages the logistics of industry presentations, alumni and industry events.

    Required Skills

    A cover letter is required for consideration.

    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Aptitude to develop new industry relationships across core sectors (banking, asset management, regulatory, FinTech).
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to confidently engage both HR and quant. executives.
    • High level of initiative and ability to self-direct.
    • Knowledge or an interest in the quantitative finance industry.
    • Ability to work evenings and weekends occasionally for special event.
    • Proficient in Excel, proficient or quick learner in Handshake.

    In addition, the following skills and experience would be preferred:

    • Relevant industry experience on the finance HR or career placement side.
    • Knowledge of Mandarin language.
    • Skills in data analysis, experience with CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce) and related tools (Slack, Handshake) preferred.
    • Knowledge of Wechat.
