    Trustmark Benefits is looking for a medical advisor/subject matter expert in the following fields:  musculoskeletal medicine, general medicine, and mental illness who will perform medical reviews of disability, life, cancer/critical illness and accident claim files on a contracted 1099-basis. All M.D.’s must have active, unrestricted state licenses and be board certified in their respective fields.

     

    In this role, you will be reporting to the Medical Director for Disability and Long-Term Care, as well as backup our other medical consultants.    This position is a remote position open to those within the United States.

     

     KEY OBJECTIVES:

    • Review case files, interpret clinical records and documentation, and respond to questions submitted by Claims Staff.
    • Provide reports in accordance with Business and Service Agreements.
    • Provide Medical Expert testimony as required.

     

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • File review for Claims & Underwriting.
    • Report submission
    • Collaboration with Medical Director and Claims Staff.

     

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • D. with active, unrestricted state license required
    • Must be 1099 and carry insurance.
    • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a practitioner
    • Insurance experience preferred but not required
    • Capacity to work virtually and remotely when necessary
    • Part-time schedule with hours up to 16-20 hrs. per month.
    • Flexible with hours; however, preferred hours are 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm EST.

    Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications
    • A Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience required
    • 6+ years’ experience working in a media advertising operations role
    • Digital experience is a must, broadcast experience is a plus
