    Our Mission

To support our work, we have built – and are continuing to build – an outstanding team of dynamic, mission-driven advancement professionals who constantly strive to create an environment where everyone belongs, where it is not just about a job, but a career and a community.

Our Business Intelligence and Prospect Strategies team is looking for a Prospect Management Analyst who will assist in developing and implementing strategic pipeline building processes to foster cross-departmental collaboration.

Business Intelligence and Prospect Strategies at Boston University

The mission of Business Intelligence and Prospect Strategies is to evolve data from their raw state to elevated forms such as information, knowledge, insight, and wisdom to maximize impact for stakeholder decision-making. As such Business Intelligence and Prospect Strategies is comprised of two sub-departments: Business Intelligence & Analytics, which shepherds data from raw to elevated states, and Prospect Management (PM), which translates these elevated forms to strategies for its clients. The department’s goal is to leverage analytics and industry best practices to help fundraisers prioritize prospects most likely to make a major gift, defined as $100,000 or greater paid within five years, in support of Boston University.

The BIPS team is a relatively new team to BU DAR and this role joins the team at a vital juncture for developing systems and processes that will allow BU to exceed its philanthropic goals.

    Prospect Management Analyst

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Prospect Management, the PM Analyst contributes to the PDM team’s focus in assigning new prospects for centrally-based major gift officers who support both the schools and numerous presidential strategic priorities, as well as for fundraisers assigned to the 17 colleges and schools at Boston University. PM Analyst also contributes to another PM team priority: portfolio optimization/management. Using tools and inputs provided by Prospect Analytics and other data providers, the PM Analyst supports the PDM team’s efforts to prioritize prospects within individual fundraiser’s portfolio, thus playing a key role in setting and achieving DAR’s major gift fundraising goals.
