ASSISTANT SAILING COACH (PART TIME), Physical Education, Recreation & Dance

  • Responsibilities

    The Department of Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (PERD) is seeking a part-time Assistant Coach for its nationally-ranked club sailing program. The Assistant Coach, Sailing will assist the Head Coach with the recruiting and development of a co-ed group of club athletes. Additional responsibilities include working with the team, as a student organization, to create and meet organizational goals in line with those of the University and PERD Club Sports program. Inventory and fleet management/maintenance is also required. In-season, the ideal candidate will be available to assist with at least two practices per week and attend one regatta each weekend, as coordinated with the Head Coach. Travel, evening and weekend work is also required.

    Required Skills

    • Current USOC Safesport, CPR and First-aid certification
    • 3-4 years’ experience in intercollegiate competition
    • Ability to model and teach advanced intercollegiate dinghy crewing techniques and 3v3 strategies and techniques to novice team racers
    • Experience and familiarity with NEISA venues a plus.
