  • Responsibilities

    The BU Wheelock College of Education & Human Development is hiring a full time Project Coordinator supporting projects and research conducted by the BU Center for Future Readiness. The Center is internationally and nationally recognized for translating career and workforce development research into practice and policy. The Center strives to discover and implement policies and practices that ensure all children, youth, and adults develop the career readiness skills needed to navigate into future occupational pathways leading to social mobility and the accumulation of generational wealth. The BU Wheelock Center is collaborating with the Coalition for Career Development Center on a vision to create a national career readiness infrastructure. Current project activities include: STEM and career readiness programs for youth, the engagement of elementary school counselors in career development, the impact of financial literacy on young womens career decision-making, national efforts to make career readiness the primary goal of U.S. education and workforce development, and supporting the implementation of career readiness efforts at the local, state, and national levels.

    Required Skills

    • High School degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
    • 1 to 3 years related experience.

    • Strong project management and organizational skills
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to accomplish tasks
    • Excellent writing skills
    • Strong listening and communication skills
    • Ability to synthesize diverse perspectives and ideas
    • Technology skills using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Zoom
    • Adaptability, proactivity, and flexibility

    Desired:

    • Interest in education policy, career development programming, translating research into policy and practice
    • Podcast/video editing and preparation
    • MS Publisher and/or Adobe Illustrator
