  • Responsibilities

    The Financial Manager reports to the Assistant Dean for Administration and Finance (ADAF) and is a vital team member. The Financial Manager (FM) is responsible for assisting the ADAF with Wheelocks financial portfolio to ensure alignment with the college operations and strategic plan for the fiscal year. The FM is also responsible for monitoring, identifying, and communicating important budgetary issues such as over expenditures, revenue reductions, potential cost savings, and unplanned costs to the ADAF. The FM ensures compliance with college and university policies regarding the proper utilization of funds and processes journal entries, deposits, disbursements, internal service requests, P-Card purchases, and the routing of contracts through appropriate channels. Moreover, the FM is responsible for handling confidential materials and information with discretion, meeting deadlines, and prioritizing duties while managing multiple high-priority projects.

    Required Skills

    • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience required, preferably in an academic setting.
    • Advanced Excel skills required.
    • Must be able to manage multiple, and at times, competing priorities.
    • Must be able to work independently and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
    • Comfort with a fast-paced work setting and ability to be flexible.
    • Discretion: ability to handle confidential information.
