  • Responsibilities

    The Assistant Director for Student Engagement plays a vital role within the Graduate Student Life team, responsible for directing the successful transition from accepted student to current student and creating and supporting a sense of belonging for all students, serving as the central point of contact for all student communications, and developing and implementing initiatives to enhance the overall experience and well-being of the BUSPH on-campus student. This role involves creating a supportive and engaging environment, fostering a sense of community, and addressing the unique needs and challenges facing Public Health graduate students today. Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of student communications, the Assistant Director for Student Engagement is responsible for developing and directing student communications using various mediums including the production of weekly newsletters, direct emails, student social media channels and website maintenance to ensure that all students have ready access to important information and are fully engaged in the BUSPH community.

    Required Skills

    • Required: BA/BS degree, MA/MS preferred
    • Preferred: 5+ years of professional experience in higher education, ideally in a similar role.
    • Highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated previous experience interacting and collaborating with students, faculty, and staff of diverse backgrounds.
    • Exemplary written and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
    • Discreet and heightened sense of awareness when working with sensitive data.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite software.
    • Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends.
