  • Responsibilities

    The Assistant EMS Manager within Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance will assist the EMS Manager in directing all aspects of BU Emergency Medical Services. This includes EMS operations and educational offerings. This individual will assist in overseeing the development, management, and instruction of EMS credit, noncredit, continuing education, and group training classes at Boston University and other area colleges and universities. This individual will also assist in overseeing staffing and operation of first aid stations for students, faculty, staff, and guests of the university at the Fitness and Recreation Center and Case Athletic Center as well as special events at the Agganis Arena and other locations on and off campus. They also work in conjunction with the Director of Emergency Preparedness, Student Health Services, Environmental Health & Safety, BU Police Department to ensure general campus safety.

    Required Skills

    B.A./B.S., and/or 3-5 years in the Emergency Medical Services field, certification as an Emergency Medical Technician in Massachusetts or by the National Registry, certified as a CPR Instructor, certification as an EMT Instructor or EMT I/C preferred.
