  • Responsibilities

    The Executive Director for the Online MBA (OMBA) Experience is a highly experienced administrator with a demonstrated track record of working across teams and functional areas to deliver academic programming in a fast-paced and rigorous learning environment. As such, the Executive Director is a critical member of the leadership team that includes the Sr. Associate Dean Online Learning, Sr. Educational Technologist and the Director of Instruction Production Services (IPS). The Executive Director provides strategic leadership for the overall learner lifecycle for the OMBA program and possesses knowledge of the adult learners needs/expectations as well as a clear understanding of processes needed to attract, retain, support and ultimately graduate engaged learners alumni. To support this overall lifecycle, the Executive Director must orchestrate the specific functional roles that are involved: the faculty director, the director of marketing/admissions, the director of student success, the director of the learning facilitators and the director program innovation and improvement. Given the scale of the OMBA program, the Executive Directors key role will be integrating these functional leaders in an agile and holistic fashion to deliver a superior OMBA experience for all involved.

     

    Duties include:

    • Help operationalize the marketing/admissions strategy for the program.
    • Further develop the operations and the delivery infrastructure that support a positive student experience.
    • Lead and supervise the Online MBA student success team.
    • Collaborate across school and university departments to build key partnerships important to delivery of the program (e.g., Grad degree programs@scale online unit, registrar, library, Questrom IT and central IT/EdTech, etc.).
    • Organize training resources for instructors and staff to bolster the student experience and build a sense of community.
    • Onboard staff, faculty, and other program stakeholders to policies, procedures, and program elements.
    • Help ensure students are supported in building personal and teaming skills to work in a dynamic global academic environment.

     

    Overall, the Executive Director is responsible for the implementation of a strategy and operational excellence to enhance the student experience of the Questrom Online MBA.

    Required Skills

    • A Masters degree is strongly preferred. Candidates with a Bachelors degree and 5+ years of leadership in online education experience may also be considered.
    • Prior experience in online program management with demonstrated responsibility over strategic planning, budgeting, personnel onboarding, and program development.
    • Demonstrated ability to create engaging online communities.
    • Effective written and oral communication skills.
    • Strong technical skills, including experience working with Salesforce.
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret and present program performance data to key stakeholders.
    • The ability to develop, interpret, and apply program and University policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
    • Demonstrated ability to build key partnerships to achieve goals.
    • Schedule flexibility will be needed due to the online nature of the program and international student population.
    • Some background in online pedagogy and techniques for peer-to-peer learning at scale.
    • Proven ability in addressing student concerns and conflicts and managing effective escalation processes.
