  • Responsibilities

    The Boston University School of Law Admissions and Financial Aid Office is hiring an Admissions and Communications Specialist (ACS). The ACS manages the application and recruitment processes for the JD program. The Admissions and Financial Aid office at BU Law receives a high-volume of applications each year and the ACS is responsible for creating methods to increase efficiency and ensure data integrity and accuracy across all stages of the application process.  The ACS coordinates attendance and shipment of promotional materials for over 100 recruitment events during the year and will represent the law school at a variety of events.

     

    The ACS reads and evaluates a percentage of the applications for admission and makes recommendations regarding admission. The ACS will compile, synthesize, and analyze data from a variety of University interfaces and presents data to Assistant Dean, Director, and other admissions team members, making recommendations based on the data as appropriate. The ACS is responsible for answering inquiries from candidates about a variety of topics including but not limited to, admissions requirements and processes, the transfer process, visa applications, and recruitment events. 

     

    The ACS also participates on the Operations and Publications Committees. The ACS will generate promotional content and make recommendations to the Assistant Dean and Director regarding future marketing, social media and webinars.

     

    Additionally, the ACS manages undergraduate work-study students and oversees the admissions workroom and inventory needs.

    Required Skills

    Bachelor's degree required. One to three years’ work experience. A successful candidate for the position will be detail oriented and have a familiarity with Microsoft Excel and/or database management.

     

    This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products, catering and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
