    Position Title:     Engineer 2- 3, SQD

     

     

                 

    POSITION SUMMARY:

     

    Position is required to develop suppliers in Quality and Product Safety areas supporting Bendix tier 1 suppliers for braking systems.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

     

    • Lead and champion the application of quality and problem-solving methodology.
    • Resolve high impact/complex issues at plant and supplier locations.
    • Lead and train IATF16949, VDA6.3, and PSA audit.
    • Manage suppliers through PAVE.
    • Ensure success of APQP projects for suppliers (DMI+).
    • Define and agree on actions with suppliers to meet PPM targets.
    • Develop supplier’s systems in all aspects of quality and safety.
    • Assure agreement for obtainable design/process controls.
    • Mentor Supplier and Plant Quality Engineers in all the above processes.

     

    KNOWLEDGE:

     

    • Advanced knowledge of APQP, VDA 6.3, PSA, IS9000:2000, IATF 16949 and QMPP
    • Advanced knowledge of statistics
    • Advanced knowledge of SAP
    • Advanced knowledge of quality core tools
    • Proper application of GD&T
    • Proficient with problem-solving tools

     

    EXPERIENCE:

     

    • 5+ years’ experience in Quality and Supplier Quality Engineering:

    • Leading teams

    • Managing projects

    • Working with manager level at suppliers

    • Dealing with confrontation

    • Applying problem-solving methods and tools

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor of Engineering
    • Master's degree a plus
    • Green Belt certification preferred
