  • Responsibilities

     

    The Laboratory of Cognitive Neurobiology at Boston University School of Medicine is seeking applicants for the position of Research Technician. The position will involve working on projects related to our studies investigating the neurobiological bases of age-related cognitive decline and recovery of function after brain injury. The position will involve performing clinical and health care related procedures and cognitive and motor function testing with non-human primates.

     

    CORE DUTIES IN DETAIL:

    • Conduct and assist with clinical procedures with non-human primates, including surgical preparation, administering and monitor anesthesia, drawing blood samples and providing support and monitoring during post-operative recovery.
    • Conduct cognitive and motor function testing with non-human primates.

     

    Required Skills

     

    Education & Experience: Experience working with animals and especially non-human primates is required. Bachelor's degree in related scientic eld preferred, but not required.

     

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Experience with some of the following is expected:

    • laboratory animal research
    • clinical procedures with non-human primates
