Lead Lifeguard, Bentonville, AR

As full-time Lead Lifeguard , you will report to the Aquatics Director and perform all the critical duties of a Lifeguard while taking on additional responsibilities and supervision as needed. The key functions include specialty program coordination, facility supervision, assisting management with program administration, staff training, and certification. Schedule is 30-40 hours per week with some evening and weekend hours required. Full-time, PTO, holidays & benefits!

What You'll Do:

• Monitor aquatic facilities patrons and ensuring their safety and well-being. Enforce and explain rules as necessary.
• Quick handling of all injuries/incidents that occur in the Aquatic Center during shift and completing incident/accident reports. Administer first aid as needed.
• Perform chemical testing and documents results for three bodies of water and a hot tub, 4x daily.
• Assist Aquatics Director with the implementation of various programs and initiatives.
• Provide lifeguard training, certification and recertification as necessary for the Aquatics Center.
• Assist in the on-boarding and continued development of aquatics staff.
• Attend all required staff meetings and training.
• Maintains a professional attitude.
• Additional duties as assigned/assigned.

What’s in your swim backpack?

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• ARC Lifeguarding with CPR/AED/First Aid for Professional Rescuers certification required.
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) required. If not current must obtain within 90 days and HealthFitness will assist with costs of obtaining certification.
• Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards. Be dependable, alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner with strong customer service skills.
• Ideal candidates will have guarded in an aquatic facility and have experience in pool water testing and cleaning.
• Able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook and working knowledge of the member management system, databases, and tools.

All lifeguards are required to perform a basic lifeguard skill test consisting of: 500-yard swim; Active, Passive, Submerged rescues; Spinal injury management in shallow and deep water; Other various techniques that were learned during the Lifeguard Training Program.
