  • Responsibilities

    PATH's Advocacy and Public Policy (APP) department works to improve the health of women and children by strengthening policies and financing affecting their well-being, including support for research and development. The department works with policymakers, coalitions, and other influential stakeholders to drive change at the global, national and sub-national levels. In Uganda, the department is implementing a one-year workplan focusing on the continuum of care for reproduction, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health (RMNCAH) services. It also focuses on immunization, primary health care, COVID-19 pandemic prevention and vaccine introduction and deployment.

     

    Throughout the year 2021, the department team in Uganda will engage in a series of advocacy engagements to deliver on its primary policy outcomes. The advocacy engagements that will require videography services (as and when considered necessary) will include, both small and large meetings and workshops, public events, media and communication activities, community engagements, virtual meetings, project impact documentation, on-job and remote advocacy technical assistance.

     

     

    OVERALL OBJECTIVE:

    The overall objective of this consultancy assignment is to document for the APP department on video, key moments, statements, commitments and resolutions involving key policy/decision makers, obtained at major advocacy engagements at national and sub-national level.

     

    The specific tasks for the consultant will include the following;

    • Perform appropriate video recording services determined as necessary for each advocacy engagement activity where key policy/decision makers are present
    • Record moderated panel discussions and side interviews (as guided by PATH team) with key policy/decision makers to keep their policy positions and commitments on record.
    • Edit the video recordings to remove “dead air” and any redundant footage
    • As and when deemed necessary, provide short (1-2 minute long) edited video clips/sound bites of key policy/decision makers, PATH staff and partners to be used for social media engagement and as “kickers” for future major advocacy events on topics of interest.
    • Save all the recorded video footage on a PATH-owned external hard drive and deliver it to PATH at the end of an advocacy engagement.

     

     

    EXPECTED TECHNICAL STANDARDS:

    • Must use high quality HD or 4K video recording camera  
    • Should be able to capture quality video footage both for indoor and outdoor advocacy engagements.

     

    DELIVERABLES:

    • Raw video footage saved on an external hard drive and delivered to PATH within 5 days post event.
    • Short video clips (1-2 minute long) of at least three key policy/decision makers edited and delivered to PATH within 5 days post event.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    • Any academic qualification in film/videography.
    • Minimum of four years’ work experience doing similar work for organizations and donor-funded projects.
    • Flexibility and ability to prioritize competing needs/deadlines.

    This opportunity is for ONLY Ugandan nationals residing in Uganda where the advocacy events will be happening.

  • Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred in Higher Education, JD, or other related field. One to three years work experience.
