  • Responsibilities

    This position is part of the Training, Dissemination and Technical Assistance Team that owns product vision and execution of federal grants in the area of information tools, and mobile apps to communicate with stakeholders in the area of serious mental illnesses/psychiatric disabilities. We value product managers with exceptional creativity, strong communication skills, the ability to think quickly, excellent problem-solving skills and knowledge or willingness to learn enough about the field of mental health and rehabilitation to support the team.  

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Learn - Understand what our users ( mental health providers, people with psychiatric disabilities, family members of same,  mental health and rehabilitation services administrators, people who might employ those with psychiatric disabilities, researchers etc.)  are doing and why. Analyze performance for opportunities to innovate, improve user experience, and increase adoption.

    • Develop Roadmaps - Help define clear and concise focus areas by identifying the desired outcomes, priorities to improve, and defining measurements to achieve this goal. Develop and guide the roadmap to set priorities to capture maximum benefit while maintaining focus on creating the best experience.

    • Design Features – Work closely with trainers, consultant and research experts, engineering & other contractors to develop new mobile and web features that delight users, have a great technical foundation, are easy to support, and deliver on the key performance metrics and goals of the Center.

    • Own Schedules and Process - Act as the bridge between technical and non-technical staff, to create schedules and own all commitments and operational plans. Anticipate and make tradeoffs to balance Federal grant needs, University requirements versus technical constraints. Champion continuous improvements to maximize process efficiency and effectiveness.

    • Champion transparency - Communicate project status and roadmap to varied audiences: project teams upstream and downstream, group and department leadership, and other stakeholders.

    ABOUT YOU

    • 0-5 Years of work experience
    • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in STEM and/or related experience
    • Demonstrated technical abilities; some coursework or experience in computer programming and web technologies is required; some coursework or experience in marketing/communications is desirable.
    • Highly developed analytical-reasoning and problem-solving skills, with proven success applying them independently
    • Strong written and spoken communication skills, with an eye to clarity and conciseness
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across diverse teams to make things happen
    • Enthusiasm for tackling tough problems independently, from assessing high-level goals through to perfecting every detail
    • Exceptionally organized self-starter, efficient and thrives under pressure
    • Curiosity, open-mindedness, and an unfailingly positive attitude
    • Interest in design thinking; some coursework or experience in UI/UX design is helpful
    • Interest in mental health is a plus
