    The Department of Microbiology (www.bumc.bu.edu/microbiology), Boston University School of Medicine, invites applications for a full-time Educator Faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. We are seeking an individual with expertise and enthusiasm for excellence in teaching and learning to provide leadership in fulfilling our educational mission at the School of Medicine.

    As a member of the Department of Microbiology, the successful candidate will join a vibrant and interactive group of faculty, students and staff who value excellence in research, education and service.     Required Skills

    Responsibilities of the Educator Faculty position include leadership and collaboration with other educators, substantial teaching, curriculum development and instructional design, and student advising in the integrated medical school curriculum and as course director of the Dental Microbiology and Immunology course. Graduate student teaching and mentoring opportunities are also available.

    Required Experience

    Minimum qualifications include a PhD or equivalent degree in microbiology or a closely related field with a strong background in microbiology, and experience teaching medical, dental, and/or physician assistant students. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated abilities to use evidence-based active and inclusive teaching strategies, work well with faculty, administrators and students, and engage in educational scholarship.
