  • Responsibilities

    The Assistant Director, MSBA Career Coach provides career development services to BU Questrom School of Business MS in Business Analytics students through individual career coaching sessions, workshops, website and social media content, and other innovative programming, both on campus and virtually. The Assistant Director takes a proactive role in the planning, development, and implementation of strategies to promote career development services and activities, coordinating with the schools other career-related programming and initiatives. The Assistant Director will optimize seamless student support by tracking and communicating information through written notes and verbal conversations, documenting the details of student interactions/appointments as well as employment and outcomes. This individual will engage in professional development to stay abreast of best practices and developments in career education and share relevant information with colleagues and students. This position must be available for occasional flexible hours.

    Required Skills

    • Bachelor's degree and five to eight years working experience are required.
    • Master's degree preferred, especially one related to business or higher education or counseling.
    • Experience providing career coaching or counseling to graduate students or early professionals preferred.
    • Experience working with a diverse and international group of students or advisees preferred.
    • Track record of successfully introducing and implementing new process improvements and initiatives.
    • Strong presentation and communication skills.
    • Fluent with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Google Docs.
    • High degree of proactiveness and self-awareness.
    • Familiarity with Handshake, Blackboard or similar higher education career platforms and learning management systems is desirable.
