    ABOUT THE ROLE

    Boston University Admissions seeks a Marketing & Communications Specialist. This role’s primary responsibility is to produce and manage digital assets, including video and graphic design for Boston university Admissions. Their responsibilities may include video production and basic editing and develop content for online and interactive/new media communications designed to attract, influence, and inform target audiences regarding the benefits and value of an undergraduate education at Boston University. The Digital Marketing & Communications Specialist is responsible for contributing to and helping implement the strategic marketing plan developed by BU Admissions. This individual will be a member of the admissions marketing team and work closely with admissions staff members, BU Interactive Design and Creative Services, and current student volunteers. Evening and weekend work may be required on occasion.

    As a member of the admissions marketing team, the Marketing & Communications Specialist works closely with admissions staff members, BU Interactive Design and Creative Services, current student volunteers, and external third-party vendors. This role reports to the Senior Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications.

     

     

    The Marketing & Communications Specialist’s primary duties include:

    • Researching and cataloging digital assets;
    • Assisting in video production and basic editing;
    • Developing digital content for online and interactive/new media communications;
    • Providing a design perspective and developing graphics for all marketing content including emails, social, website, in-house publications and others, and;
    • Contributing to and helping implement the strategic marketing plan developed by BU Admissions.

    ABOUT THE CANDIDATE

     

    A Bachelor's Degree is required for this position. Ideally, we are seeking a candidate who:

    • Has 3-5 years of related experience;
    • Has experience writing/creating web and video content;
    • Has a strong grasp on story boarding, shooting, post-production, and composition and a working knowledge of video editing products (software).
    • Has expert knowledge of current digital media production, equipment, and processes;
    • Has a thorough knowledge of Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite, and;
    • Demonstrates working knowledge of video editing software (such as Final Cut Pro), presentation development applications (such as Keynote), and web development platforms (such as WordPress.)
