    Full-time, Non-tenure Track   

     

    Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (GSDM) invites applications for a full-time, Research Assistant Professor position in the Department of Periodontology.

     

    The Department of Periodontology is accepting applications for a full-time, five day per week, faculty position. Major responsibilities include academic tasks such as lecturing in departmental courses and mentoring graduate dental residents pursuing a Master or Doctor of Science degree in Periodontology as well as serving in departmental committees. Mentoring predoctoral students who are involved in the department’s numerous research project is a possibility.

     

    A successful applicant must be able to show a strong publication record and previous experience in basic research with emphasis on bone and cell biology. In addition to mentoring graduate students, independent research is desired.

     

    Required Skills

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    Applicants must have a PhD degree or equivalent. Experience with working with small animals (mice, rats, rabbits is highly desirable). The successful candidate must show proficiency in biochemistry and/or molecular biology. Academic rank at the level of Assistant /Associate Professor and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience. 

     

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience with working with small animals (mice, rats, rabbits is highly desirable). Proficiency in biochemistry and/or molecular biology. Experience in basic research with emphasis on bone and cell biology. Good mentoring skills.
