    The Department of Agriculture, Biology and Health Sciences seeks applications from qualified individuals who are interested in part time teaching positions as adjunct instructors in the Department of Agriculture, Biology & Health Sciences.  Applications may or may not result in immediate hiring, but we will keep applications on file. Teaching assignments may include daytime or evening classes and may occur at the Cameron University Lawton or Duncan campus.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    Adjunct faculty may teach a maximum of nine credit hours during a semester. We are especially interested in adjunct faculty who are qualified to teach lower division undergraduate courses in the areas of agriculture, agronomy, human biology, human anatomy, human physiology, and microbiology, though other subject areas may be available depending upon student demand.

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Master’s degree in the academic discipline, or a Master's degree in a related area with at least 18 hours of graduate coursework in the academic discipline.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Master’s degree (or a higher degree) in the appropriate field and documented successful college teaching experience.

     

    SALARY RANGE:

    Commensurate with experience and qualifications.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Assist with the development and delivery of a range of developmentally appropriate programs and activities for 6-12 year-olds. Programming can include, but is not limited to, academic enrichment activities, homework assistance, and athletic and recreational activities. Assess individual children''s needs and provide tutoring, assistance when necessary.
    • Serve as a responsible and reliable role model for children participating in the program.
    • Supervise and discipline program participants within the program area and throughout the clubhouse. Share concerns and challenges with SACC Director.
    • Assist with ensuring afternoon snack is served to participants.
    • Assist with maintenance of materials, equipment and other resources belonging to the program area(s). Maintain a safe and clean program area.
    • Participate in individual and group supervision sessions; participate in professional development opportunities as appropriate.
    • Travel between sites and to activities as needed.
    • Other related duties as specified by the SACC Director.
