Job Description

Brevard Public Schools is looking for dedicated INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANTS - ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) to provide assistance to limited English proficient students in the basic subject areas of Math, Science, Social Studies, and Computer Literacy, using English and, when necessary for understanding, the native language of the student.

The Instructional Assistant - ESOL must have experience working with children and be able to speak and write fluently in Spanish and English.

This is a 9-month position and it is eligible for full-time benefits.

POSITIONS AVAILABLE AT THE FOLLOWING SCHOOLS:

• Croton Elementary School in Melbourne
• Harbor City Elementary School in Melbourne
• Riviera Elementary School in Palm Bay
• Saturn Elementary School in Cocoa
• Titusville High School in Titusville
• Palm Bay Magnet High School in Palm Bay

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma/equivalent or special diploma required
• Minimum of 60 semester hours from an accredited educational institution with at least 30 semester hours in general education core curriculum and/or child development and education OR successful completion of the ParaPro test with a score of 464 or higher
• Experience working with children
• Valid Florida Driver's License required
