Business Development & Customer Engagement Co-op

Cultural Care Au Pair

Location: Boston, MA

Work Schedule: Hybrid - Monday to Thursday in office, option to work from home on Fridays

Salary: Hourly $20/hr, 40 hours per week

Start date: January 5, 2027

EF Education First is excited to offer an intern and Cooperative Education (co-op) program in partnership with a student’s college or university, giving students the opportunity to align their academic and future career goals with full time or part time work experience for a select period of time.

EF offers a multitude of part-time and full-time, 4-6-month internships or co-ops starting in January or Summer, across our travel, language, and education businesses in sales, customer service, operations, finance, and marketing.

Cultural Care Au Pair is affiliated with EF Education First. We are looking for a motivated and outgoing co-op to join our inside sales team. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in sales, customer engagement, lead generation, and field marketing while learning how we connect families across the U.S. with a unique childcare and cultural exchange solution.

As a Business Development & Customer Engagement Co-op, you'll engage with prospective host families at different stages of their journey. You'll manage your own pipeline of leads, connecting with families by phone, text, and email to understand their childcare needs, ask thoughtful discovery questions, and explore how the au pair program could work for their family.

The role will also provide opportunities to get outside the office and support local lead-generation and brand-awareness efforts. This may include attending community events, engaging with prospective families in person, and helping us identify new ways to reach families in the Boston and greater New England area. Some events may take place on weekends or require occasional overnight travel. When weekend work is required, schedules will be adjusted to provide a corresponding weekday off.

What You'll Do

• Manage a pipeline of prospective host family leads, providing timely and consistent follow-up throughout their early journey with Cultural Care
• Connect with prospective families by phone, text, and email to understand their childcare needs and explore whether the au pair program could be a good fit
• Ask thoughtful discovery questions to learn about each family's childcare needs, priorities, timeline, and what they are looking for in a childcare solution
• Tailor conversations and follow-up based on what matters most to each family
• Help interested families take the next step toward beginning the matching process
• Maintain accurate notes, follow-up activities, and lead information within our CRM
• Support lead nurturing and outreach campaigns alongside the Program Education and broader sales teams
• Participate in local events, community activations, and other field-based opportunities designed to generate new leads and increase brand awareness
• Engage with prospective families in person and represent the Cultural Care brand at local events
• Support special sales, lead-generation, and customer engagement projects based on team and business needs
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and other teams to test new ideas and improve how we engage prospective families

Who You Are

• Friendly, confident, and comfortable starting conversations with new people
• Naturally curious and interested in understanding people's needs
• Interested in gaining hands-on experience in sales, marketing, customer experience, or business
• A strong communicator, both verbally and in writing
• Organized and able to manage multiple leads, tasks, and follow-ups
• Comfortable working independently while also being part of a collaborative team
• Adaptable and comfortable learning as you go
• Motivated to take initiative and contribute ideas
• Excited by the opportunity to work both in an office environment and occasionally out in the field at local events, with flexibility to support occasional weekend events and overnight travel as needed
