CARB-X is the largest externally funded program at Boston University reporting to the Vice President and Provost for Research. CARB-X is a global non-profit partnership dedicated to accelerating antibacterial research and development to tackle the threat of drug-resistant bacteria. The CARB-X portfolio is the world's most promising early development pipeline of innovative products to prevent, diagnose and treat life-threatening bacterial infections. CARB-X is grant-funded and currently supported by multiple government and foundation funders. The CARB-X environment is innovative, dynamic, energetic, and rapidly evolving. The Business Intelligence Architect will oversee the data structures and the complete data processing pipeline between the in-house platforms and SAP and other external data feeds. This is one of two BI Architects within the IT team at CARB-X. The BI Architect serves as a point person for handling data, including databases, data modeling, and data extraction and integration. The BI Architect will oversee data integrity and systems design, ensuring the ability to extract and analyze data from a range of financial and programmatic data sources to support business leaders at CARB-X with portfolio reporting and financial reporting including forecasting. The BI Architect will understand the Salesforce platform data structures as well as SAP and other sources of data (e.g. communications, conflicts of interest, intellectual property), and create and validate uniform information management and reporting capabilities from disparate source systems and disparate data formats.

A bachelors degree is required; however, equivalent professional experience in information technology, including work involving programming, data platforms, and reporting solutions, may substitute for some or all of the educational requirement. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in the Python programming language and experience with Tableau or comparable data visualization platforms used for analytics and reporting.
