    HILL COUNTRY AMBULATORY SURGERY CENTER is a brand new, state-of-the-art surgery center in Cedar Park, TX. Our mission is to treat each and every one of our patients, and their families, as if they were our own family member. Each patient, each family, each and every time. This facility is a part of the United Surgical Partners International (USPI) portfolio with strong ties to Cedar Park Regional Medical Center. It is a 3 procedure room, 1 OR facility that focuses on GI procedures. The facility has recently been re-accredited by Joint Commission. Open Monday - Friday for outpatient services only (with no call!), this facility is looking for a PRN Pre-Op/PACU/PAT RN.     The PRE-OP/PACU RN has the responsibility to plan, direct organize, coordinate and implement all nursing care services for the pre-op and post surgical patients in a manner consistent with our mission statement. They participate in the development of patient plan of care to include patient problems, goals, evaluations and interventions. This care includes monitoring heart rate, blood pressure, breathing and respiration, as well as managing the pain and nausea that often follow anesthesia. They may have additional responsibilities as designated by the Clinical Director, which include, but are not limited to, serving on committees, and participating in quality improvement audits and projects. The PRE ADMISSIONS NURSE identifies interventions to attain expected outcomes, implements the interventions identified in the plan of care, evaluates the progress of the patient/family toward attainment of outcomes, and documents the process. This care includes sensitivity to age specific and unique needs of the patient/family. The position requires heavy phone use and strong organizational skills.

    Required Skills

    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
    • Current Texas Nursing License
    • Current BLS and ACLS required
    • Minimum of 2 years experience in Pre-Op/PACU
    • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
    • Understand principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
    • Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics
    • Knowledge base to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors
    • Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
    • Excellent teaching skills
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Demonstrate strong professional and ethical behavior
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians and fellow employees. (TEAMWORK)

    Required Experience

    • Previous experience working in an ambulatory surgical setting preferred.
