Cadmus works hand in hand with public and private agencies and corporations, providing technical and policy consulting services on a variety of intersecting renewable energy issues. From analyzing new solar incentive models to helping electrical inspectors understand the latest in photovoltaic (PV) technology, Cadmus is at the forefront of the renewable energy industry; our consulting services frequently inform technical, policy, and other decisions that have a real impact on the energy industry. For example, our staff provides guidance and support on both large- and small-scale projects, analyzes the performance of battery systems, conducts feasibility and potential studies, evaluates and administers incentive programs, and conducts project due diligence. We are seeking a motivated, personable, and detail-oriented Intern to join our industry-leading Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Team. You will work closely with the team to provide coordination support for Cadmus growing solar quality assurance (QA) practice, as well as provide research and analysis support for various other renewable energy projects. Our QA team provides inspection, testing, and due diligence services for state agencies, government entities, municipalities, and private clients, and our coordinators are a key part of that process. Specifically, you would ensure that our inspectors meet the expectations of our clients, completing work on time and within budget. For research and analysis support, our team provides engineering, policy, and economic consulting to a number of state regulatory agencies, public utilities, and private companies, and you would be supporting technical and financial analyses for a variety of clients. You should be well organized, detail-oriented, personable, and familiar with the basic concepts of solar PV and other renewable energy technologies. This internship will expose you to a wide variety of consulting projects. Responsibilities As an Intern on the Renewable Energy team, you would be responsible for: Working independently or with minimal supervision to support in research efforts, ensuring consistency and quality of research methods Conducting surveys, interviews, and quantitative analyses, focused on technical, policy, and/or financial implications of renewable energy Writing sections of reports ensuring accuracy of content and adherence to format and other pertinent details Coordinating and tracking availability among our team of inspectors and engineers Making calls to residential and commercial customers to explain the inspection process and set inspections for field staff Analyzing renewable energy data utilizing Excel or other analytical software, identifying trends, summarizing program events, and identifying causal impacts on program results Qualifications Requirements Currently enrolled in degree program in economics, business, statistics, engineering, or another relevant field Experience with analyzing and interpreting data, particularly with large data sets Understand basic concepts of solar PV and other renewable energy technologies Excellent writing, communication, and critical thinking skills Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word and Excel Preferred Familiarity with and passionate about renewable energy, including policies on the federal, regional, and state levels Foundational knowledge of renewable energy incentives and financial vehicles Strong quantitative and software skills with applications such as Python, Filemaker, SQL, and similar software tools Additional Info This is a Summer 2018 Internship located in Waltham, MA.
