    The Student Services Coordinator for Korean Master’s Program is responsible for coordinating and executing designated services for Azusa Pacific Seminary (APS) Korean students, prospective students, staff, and faculty of the program.  This position reports to the Director of Korean Master’s Program. The primary function of this position is to support the Korean Program with recruitment and retention efforts pertaining to APS programs and academic student files for the Korean Program.

     

    REQUIRED EDUCATION

    • BA/BS or equivalent experience, Master's degree preferred

     

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    • 1-3 years

     

    PRIMARY DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Manages designated customer service functions of the Koran Master’s Program for Azusa Pacific Seminary, including but not limited to:
      • Accurately responds to/directs student inquiries and questions regarding such issues as (but not limited to) transfer of course units, course waivers, registration for classes, graduation requirements, financial aid, program and course prerequisites, student transcripts, independent study, graduate and professional program admission requirements, academic calendar, course add/drops, etc.
    • Assists students with their questions/issues regarding programs, scheduling, facilities, admissions, registration, financial aid, and various general needs
    • Develop and implement a plan for regular contact with each student each term for purposes of student acre and retention to degree completion
    • Consistent use of University database system; maintain academic master files for all students in Korean Program
    • Requires availability to work evening and weekend hours at the regional site
    • Serve on the Scholarship Committee representing Korean students
    • Provide scholarship information to APU students
    • Compose correspondence, create and distribute materials as needed in English and Korean languages
    • Assist in Seminary programs such as the Hooding and Commissioning service and other student activities
    • Support APS Alumni chapter volunteers, meetings, and events
    • Assis in answering APS and Korean Program’s main telephone line
    • Assist in the promotion, preparation and implementation of informational meetings for all Korean Programs
    • Plan and facilitate New Student Orientation for fall and spring for Korean Programs
    • Acts as a resource for the other staff in solving problems related to customer service, ensuring accurate communication regarding policies and procedures in recruitment and retention of Korean Programs
    • Represent Korean Program class scheduling, monitor academic advising, program support, and support to faculty
    • Responsible for daily electronic timekeeping as it applies to the scope of this position
    • Promotes a positive and professional environment
    • Regular punctual attendance as required by the supervisor based on department needs
    • Performs other duties as required by the supervisor

    SKILLS

    • Proficiency in English and Korean languages (speak, read, and write)
    • Organization management, motivational, customer service, problem solving, oral and written communication kills in English and Korean
    • Ability to balance a variety of tasks and demands
    • Training skills for employees (student and full-time)
    • Knowledge of office, and computer operations
    • Self-starter with ability to meet deadlines
    • Work in support of Orange County staff and Asusa Pacific Seminary staff in all matters related to the Korean Program
    • Supports APS library work in Orange County
    • Regular punctual attendance as required by the supervisor based on department needs

    • Intermittent sitting and standing. 
    • Hearing and speaking on the telephone
    • Ability to conduct business at other offices on campus
    • Requires keyboard knowledge
    • Ability to lift, pull, grasp, bend and reach. 
    • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

     

    VISUAL DEMANDS

    • Computer monitor and reading.

     

    ENVIRONMENT

    • Pleasant office, comfortable temperatures. 
    • Multiple conversations and transactions occurring simultaneously.

     

    TECHNOLOGIES

    • Proficient in Google Apps., Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
    • Familiarity with PeopleSoft or another Student Information System is preferred

     

    COMPENSATION

    • Grade 7: $19.49-$25.33/hourly
    • Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
