About the Department Physical Plant Management (PPM) in the division of Administration and Finance, plays an important role in maintaining the quality of CSUN's physical environment by keeping the buildings and landscape safe, clean and aesthetically pleasing. PPM employees provide excellent customer service to the campus community in the areas of custodial and grounds, engineering services, asset management, central receiving and campus store, university postal services, and reprographics/quickcopies. PPM performs maintenance work and makes major and minor repairs to campus facilities and remodels, and renovates classrooms and offices at the request of other departments. Major Duties Under general supervision, the Reprographics Specialist III produces high quality full color print jobs from start to finish on a variety of networked digital equipment. The incumbent utilizes a variety of media to include all paper types and sizes, envelopes, indoor and exterior signage; provides technical support by meeting with customers to understand their needs and provides consultation with respect to budget and final output; creates, manipulates and fixes files utilizing desktop and graphic software; resolves quality issues and keeps equipment in proper functioning order; manipulates files through the use of various desktop and graphic software; performs all necessary bindery and finishing for jobs; provides consultations with customers on jobs to meet customer specifications, provides quotes, proofs, follows up with communications on job expectations with customers and management; operates carts and motor vehicles daily in performance of duties; performs pickups and deliveries both on and off-campus, as needed; travels multiple times per day between production areas across campus to transport supplies, equipment, and product weighing up to 40 pounds; delivers print jobs to clients, multiple times per day, to varied locations across campus; transports deliveries typically weighing up to 40 pounds and can be oversized requiring flat transport to maintain integrity of product; drives off campus weekly to make supply runs consisting of several cases of oversize product weighing approximately 40 pounds each; and performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School education or equivalent. Three (3) years of reprographics operations and functions experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education required. LICENSE: CANDIDATE MUST POSSESS A VALID CALIFORNIA DRIVER'S LICENSE. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Possess specialized skills as well as a broad knowledge of reprographics operations, processes and systems. Proficiency in applicable PC and Macintosh platforms, their operating systems and applicable software packages (i.e. Roland Versa Works, Mimaki Raster Link, Engrave Lab, Gerber Software). Thorough knowledge of the operation, adjustment and routine maintenance of mechanical, digital and computerized equipment and systems. Working knowledge of desktop publishing and graphic software and the ability to manipulate and translate media, as well as process electronic files using pre-press software. Thorough knowledge of: campus graphics standards and procedures; USPS mail regulations for self-mailers, Business Reply, Non-profit, and postcards. CSUN university graphic standard and campus wide posting policy. Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule The university offers an excellent benefits package. The salary range for this classification is: $2901 - $4949 per month. The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $2901 - $3500, dependent upon qualifications and experience. HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. REG: This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
